Historical Cabinet of the Institute of Psychology

The Historical Cabinet at Humboldt-Universität’s Institute of Psychology is a collection of examination equipment and demonstration apparatus from the Institute’s 125-year history. The collection ranges from objects dating back to the founding period, such as the universal kymograph manufactured by the Leipzig company E. Zimmermann, to devices acquired in the GDR era (e.g. the Soemtron ETR 220 and the Robotron Z 9001) or manufactured in the Institute's own workshop, to computers from the early 1990s, reflecting the Institute's focus on experimental psychology. Alongside the approximately 95 devices, teaching materials such as slides and photographs as well as demonstration cards and models have been preserved at the institute.
