Polyhedron Models (paperboard)
Polyhedron models exhibit the idealized shape of crystals which is rarely observed for naturally grown crystals. Polyhedron models are divided into two groups. The first group comprises models which are made of paperboard. The second group is made of wood. The size of the paperboard models is about 20 cm in all three directions in space. Thus, these models are suitable for demonstrations in front of a larger auditorium. In particular, the relations between different crystal facets with respect to size and orientation can be shown. By this, crystallographic symmetry elements and symmetry operations can be comprehensibly derived.
